WM Keeper version beginning from 2.4.0.1 support secret keys files. The following guidelines will help you upgrade to newer versions:
Suppose you registered with version 2.4.0.0 or older, you have aWMID, password and an intact secret keys file (.kwm), and access to your WMID registration e-mail.
1) Back up your file with secret keys. Save the backup file in another directory.
2) Download the latest version of WM Keeper.
3) Start the installer, follow through the installation and launch WM Keeper.
4) A dialogue window will appear. Enter your WMID and password.
5) A dialogue box will say «It appears to be the first time you are ...». Click «Next»
6) In the following screen’s first field enter the path to the file with your keys. Enter your WMID sign-in password in the second «access code» filed even though it says the access code and WMID password are not the same. This solves the compatibility issue between the old and new versions of secret keys files.
7) WM Keeper will prompt for your purses file (.pwm). If you still have it, enter the path to it. If you lost the file, give a name to the new file. Follow this link for more details.
8) Then, just like in the previous versions, you will be prompted for a new activation code that will be sent to your e-mail address.
This is it. You have upgraded to the latest version. Follow the URL at the bottom of the page for an overview of secret keys file features in the new versions.
WM Keeper new versions treat a secret keys file created by old software versions as a backup copy protected by password identical to the Keeper login password.
